I AM WRITTIG THIS FOR MY FRIEND, DERNELL WAS VERY DEAR AND VERY CLOSE TO ME AND TO MY HEART. MAYBE I DECIDED TO DO THIS FOR SOME SORT OF CLOSURE, IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO YEARS NOW AND THE PAIN AND EMOTION ARE STILL VERY RAW. THE TRIAL IS GETTING READY TO START AND IT HAS BROUGHT BAKE A LOT OF THE PAIN AND DISBELIEF OF THIS BRUTAL AND TRAGIC EVENT. WHEN YOU ARE SITTING AT HOME AND THE NEWS COMES ON, AND THERE YOU SEE THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE HAS BEEN MURDERED, I WENT INTO HYSTERICS. THE EMOTIONS WERE SO OVERWHELMING MY MIND SHUT DOWN, MY BODY WENT LIMP, I FEEL TO MY KNEES SCREAMING, ALL I COULD THINK OFWAS HIS NEW BABY, AND HOW HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO GROW UP WITH OUT HIS FATHER, AND HOW HE WOULD NEVER KNOW WHAT KIND OF MAN HE REALLY WAS. DERNELL WAS THE MOST HUMBLE, SINCERE, DOWN TO EARTH MAN I HAD EVER MEET. HE WAS GENUINE, DOWN TO EARTH, HE NEVER THOUGHT HE WAS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. I HOPE MAYBE ONE DAY HIS SON READS THIS. AFTER ALL THIS TIME AS SIT HERE AND WRITE THIS TEARS ARE STREAMING DOWN MY FACE AND MY HAERT HURTS AT THE LOSE OF THE BEST MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN. I CONSIDER MYSELF A CHRISTIAN WOMAN. BUT THE THOUGHT OF THE MEN WHO DESTOYED SO MANY LIVES TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE DEATH PENALTY, I WANT THESE MEN TO PAY, PAY WITH THEIR LIVES AS THEY MADE DERNELL PAY WITH HIS. AS FOR JENNIFER GADDIS I STILL THINK SHE IS BEHIND ALL OF THIS. HOW DID THEY PULL THESE IDIOTS OVER CONFISCATE ALL THAT MONEY, LET THEM GO, AND NOT FIND THE GUN THAT TOOK DERNELLS LIFE, OR WHERE DID THEY GET THE MONEY? HOW DID THEY GET THE GUN? THERE ARE SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. YET I DONT KNOW IF I AM READY TO KNOW ALL THE ANSWERS. I PRAY FOR HIS FAMILY AND HIS SON. I WILL LOVE YOU UNTIL THE END. ONE DAY WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN.
