[edit] YOUR OCTA WIKI IS DEAD!

What happened? The URL is DOA!

  • No idea, but thanks for the update. I'll look at it tonight and see what's up. --Dennisthe2 02:37, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] sorry about the block

Another colleague of yours was vandalising Wikipedia apparently at work too. You appeared to have been collateral damage. Don't worry, as soon as we get bug 550 fixed, this probably will occur less often. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (Be eudaimonic!) 05:23, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Source of Vandalism

I saw the note on the IP address that you use about the block. As others have stated there has been a fair amount of vandalism from someone using that IP. It's a good idea that you signed up for a regular account, hopefully it won't effect you.

If you could keep an eye out on your computers and maybe check the Internet Explorer history from time to time, I'd appreciate it. I'm curious who this person is. Most likely one of the people is a person who has a facination about Dominion of Melchizedek and might have the first name John. Thanks.. Davidpdx 12:29, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I wouldn't bet on it. The only John that I work with is out of a different location. IP spoofing comes to mind. --Dennis The TIger 16:28, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] erection index page deletion

In my opinion the deletion of the erection index page was a mistake, so I am putting together a replacement with additional explanation and references. Using the dispute resolution process I need to ask you for clarification on your deletion. Interpreting "as per norm" as "as stated", I would say the term is common, makes sense in the intended context, is documented out of a desire to share a definition of a common and useful term and relates to no original research of mine that I am aware of, and more references are available. If you have something specific then let me know, otherwise I'll just try to address all of the above and work with you all on this. -- M0llusk 05:38, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD

You made a nasty accusation regarding an AfD in which I have posted. It is the AfD on Hong Tran. You said it was an edit war. As Bobblehead is not mentioned or attacked on the AfD, and as you explicitly mentioned me, it seems obivous you mean that I started the AfD as an edit war resolution or to win an edit war.

You are wrong, and it was quite rude and a clear assumption of bad faith by you.

Bobblehead started the AfD. Bobblehead on his own Talk page has said he intended to start the AfD before the flurry of edits.

I trust that in the spirit of constructiveness and friendliness, that you will change your comment on the AfD. I don't mean that you change it to or from "Delete" or "Keep". I am not talking about your vote. I am referring to your characterziation that I launched the AfD as an edit war. Actually, I made all of ONE friendly comment at the top of the page, until finally responding to the flood of comments that directly or indirectly referred to me.

I trust that you will will change your comment accordingly.

Thank you. --Nottingham 17:21, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for your friendly remarks and apology. I respect and appreciate your response. Like I said earlier and you already have said you understood, it didn't matter to me how you voted (since, after all, everyone has the right to their own opinion), all I cared about was clearing up the misconceptions that seemed to be being spread about me. I am sorry you were dragged into this, and I did not mean to make it annoying, unpleasant, or a waste of time.

Have a good day.

[edit] Merge and delete

I saw your comment on the AFD of "Themes common in gay porn". To comply with the GFDL the edit history for material needs to be retained, so deleting said history when the contents of an article are merged is not allowed. The proper vote is either delete or merge and redirect. You can't merge and delete at the same time. - Mgm|(talk) 10:21, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Labels

Just a word of advice, when you tell people to check labels, you might want to do it yourself :-P This edit a long time ago [1] was incorrect as in fact H&S does contain Selenium Sulfide. Don't worry I'm not stalking you. I infact visited the article for another reason. I noticed that and was surprised since I was pretty sure I'd checked the labels at the time and it did contain so I was somewhat surprised when I read in the article it didn't (I didn't add the original info to the article). However a quick Google showed I was correct, [2] and [3]. I usually check if I come across an inaccuracy just to see if it was there all the time and if not, when it was added. Since you were advising others to check the labels, thought I'd return the courtesy :-P Hope you aren't offended. Nil Einne 17:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually the H&S website address I pointed out does say it contains SS (emphasis mine):
Q: What makes Head & Shoulders the product to use to fight dandruff?
A: Head & Shoulders is legendary at helping provide dandruff control. Its line of products contains two of the most effective active ingredients available to help fight dandruff - Pyrithione Zinc (“ZPT”) and Selenium Sulfide. Our patented ZPT formula and delivery system, as well as Selenium Sulfide, help control dandruff effectively and safely by going straight to the source of the problem. They both fight Malassezia, believed to be the leading cause of dandruff, without damaging hair. The result is virtually flake-free, beautiful hair.

[edit] Grammar

Finally! Someone who uses their own mind to promote proper use of grammar among they're own people to reduce the number of idiot's who can't right properly. Who does that anyway. --Trentjohnson 12:06, 5 March 2007 (UTC) (never misuses "their", "'s" or the almighty "question mark.")
