What are the units of the density altitude given by the equation in this page?
The units are: hPa for P0; K for T; The answer is given in ft; To transform to meters multiply the answer by 0.3048.

The formula has 6 decimals of accuracy - about 4 too many as this is only an approximation - accuracy will not be within 1% - or 2 decimals of accuracy. Paul Beardsell 03:07, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
As the pressure ratio is being determined, any unit may be used for pressure whereas the units to be used are specified. Kelvin, neither specified nor conversion from Celsius documented, need not be used necessarily either - just any scale which has 0 at absolute zero or 0 K. But there is only one such commonly used scale - Kelvin. So we're stuck with that. But PSI or mmHg or anything can be used for pressure. Paul Beardsell 03:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

There exist easier rules of thumb formulae for converting from pressure altitude to density altitude which will be nearly as (in)accurate and of more pratcical use. Looking... Paul Beardsell 03:14, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
