  • 1 March 2007: The police clears Ungdomshuset, sparking days of riots and demonstrations in both Nørrebro and the vicinity of Freetown Christiania. Massive police presence in the affected parts of Copenhagen.
  • 11 February 2007: Danish director Bille August's latest film, Goodbye Bafana, premiers at the Berlin film festival. The topic of the film is the relationship between Nelson Mandela and one of his prison guards.
  • 11 February 2007: Freetown Christiania rejects a government-backed plan for "normalising" the area. Negotiations continue.
  • 4 February 2007: Germany rejects a Danish request for an extradition of Søren Kam for the second time. Danish Minister of Justice, Lene Espersen, states that the government will continue demands for an extradition.
  • January 2007: The Ministry of Finance reports that the national surplus in 2006 was higher than anytime in the last 20 years, slashing the national debt from 35 to 28% of GDP, the biggest drop ever. The National Bank reports that the fall is even bigger.
