Denny Zeitlin

Denny Zeitlin is a jazz pianist born in Chicago, Illinois on April 10, 1938. He originally had classical piano training, but then switched to medicine. He studied medicine at both Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University. In 1963 he moved to San Francisco to get involved in jazz piano and study psychiatry. He joined the Charlie Haden trio in 1965 and for this he is best known. He also did the score to the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Zeitlin also created some music for the children's television program Sesame Street.
