Dennis Wideman (born March 20, 1983 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) is a professional ice hockey defenseman who currently plays for the Boston Bruins of the NHL.
Wideman was drafted from the London Knights in the 8th round, 241st overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He started the 2005-2006 NHL season with the Peoria Rivermen but eventually got the call up to the St. Louis Blues and made his NHL debut on Nov. 9, 2005 at Columbus, registering two penalty minutes. He scored his first career NHL point (assist) on Nov. 12, 2005 at Nashville and scored his first career NHL goal (which was a game winner) on Dec. 1, 2005 versus Columbus. He played 67 games with the Blues for the 2005-2006 season and wore jersey number 25.
Wideman played in 55 games for the Blues during the 2006-2007 season before being traded from the Blues to the Boston Bruins on February 27th, 2007 for Brad Boyes.
