Dennis H. Black is the Iowa State Senator from the 21st District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 1994. He received his BS and MS from Utah State University.
Black currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Agriculture committee; the Appropriations committee; the State Government committee; the Veterans Affairs committee; and the Natural Resources and Environment committee, where he is chair. He also serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving as a representative in the Iowa House from 1982-1994.
Black was re-elected in 2006 with 13,486 votes, defeating Republican opponent Tim Morgan. [1]
