DeIn 2002, the Danish broadcaster DR organized Melodi Grand Prix Nordic in Copenhagen. It was the preceder of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The first "real" contest was also held in Copenhagen 2003.

The country has managed well with three partipications and three top-5 places. They did not participate in 2006 and will not participate in 2007.
