Denizen Entertainment is an independent software and creative works organization created and maintained by Tess Flynn and Grant Olson.

[edit] History

Denizen Entertainment began in 1997 as a shareware production organization for the Mac OS platform under the name denizen soft. Many of its initial projects involved object oriented frameworks, and utility software including an application switcher.

Its most well known project was City of Light: InterLock, a cinematic RPG for Mac OS and BeOS platforms. The game boasted a turn-based battle system, a rich, graphical interface, and an in-depth story. Most of it was based on Squaresoft's Final Fantasy series of games. Although the project gained a degree of following in the BeOS community, the project never completed development. The reasons for this include an excess of ambition, lack of time, and unfocused management.

Following the collapse of the InterLock project, Denizen began work on Novella: College Journal Manga, a manga-styled webcomic dealing with transgender issues, sexual orientation, and suicide. Although some 23 episodes of the manga were produced, the project was placed "on hold" due to various problems with the storyline, and character designs.

Presently, Denizen Entertainment is engaged in the creation of The Internet Idea Database, a development system geared toward creative development. To date, it is the only project of Denizen Entertainment's to reach an initial version.
