Denis Murphy (UK politician)

Denis Murphy (born 2 November 1948, Ashington) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour member of Parliament for Wansbeck, and was first elected in 1997. He had previously led Wansbeck District Council. He is a member of the National Union of Mineworkers and was the only member of the 1997 intake to be backed by that union.
