Dendroid

Dendroids are fictional creatures from the video game Heroes of Might and Magic III.
Very similar to the Ents of Tolkien fame, Dendroids are made for soaking up damage. Low speed is the main handicap for these creatures. Dendroids are the only Level 5 creature to have a hoard building.
In Heroes of Might and Magic III, Dendroid Guards can be purchased from the Dendroid Arches found in the Rampart towns. They can be upgraded to Dendroid Soldiers. Their growth can be increased by 2 per week by purchasing the Dendroid Saplings upgrade.
Their special ability binds enemies they attack to the ground until the attacking Dendroid moves or is killed. This makes them ideal for defense, since they can stop enemies in their tracks until stronger units can arrive. However, their relatively low speed and attack make them less than ideal for offensive strategies.
