Den Harrow

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Den Harrow (born Stefano Zandri on June 4, 1962 in Nova Milanese, MI, Italy) is an Italian singer. He was popular in the 1980s with hits like "Don't Break My Heart", "Bad Boy", "Catch the Fox", and "Future Brain".

However, Stefano Zandri did not actually sing his own songs; he was essentially a character who lip-synched to vocals produced by a number of other Italo singers. In the very beginning Chuck Rolando's voice was used in the singles "To Meet Me" and "Taste of Love". Later on, Silver Pozzoli was chosen to do the single "Mad Desire"; however, most of the songs for the "Den Harrow" project were sung by American vocalist Tom Hooker, including Europe-wide hit singles "Don't Break My Heart", "Bad Boy", "Catch the Fox", and "Future Brain". Although it was not initially a pan-European hit, "Broken Radio" from the classic 1985 album "Overpower" has gained a significant fan base in the Italo-Disco Revolution of the new millennium. Hooker also produced the vocals for the album releases of "Mad Desire" and other older Den Harrow tracks. In 1998 a remix version of the hit "Future brain" was instead sung by the young pop-italo artist Peter Arcade, considered today the heir of the other Italian popular artist of the 1980s, Gazebo, author of "I like Chopin".

In 2006 he took part in a reality show: "L'isola dei famosi" on Rai Due, a channel of Italian public television.
