Hello, Demosthenes 1, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. [edit] George W. Bush

"Gubernatorial" is the proper word to describe something related to a governor. It is a real word, so please stop changing it. Repeated changes may be considered vandalism. Thanks. --LV (Dark Mark) 20:30, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Quite alright, my friend. Sometimes something is so odd that it doesn't seem possible to be true, but this is. And don't worry about any troubles you have caused, because you haven't caused any. You thought you were fixing vandalism, and it took but mere seconds to correct your error. No harm in trying to help. :-) Just keep up the good work. See you around. --LV (Dark Mark) 22:00, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Website

You may want to review WP:WEB. This will give you information about the notability requirements and other information relating to website's articles. Hope this helps. If you have any further specific question, don't be afraid to ask. Thanks. --Mark Neelstin (Dark Mark) 02:09, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Number 23 and Other Numbers

23 This user is a 23rdian; he or she sees the number 23 everywhere.

With the new Jim Carrey movie coming out, I've been thinking about a similar experience I have had. Not with 23, but 744. I repeatedly have encountered the number 744 for years. It seems every time I check the clock, it's 7:44; every group of numbers I see magically add up to 744. If anyone else has had similar experiences with 23, 744, or any other number, tell me about it here. I think this recurring number phenomenon is pretty interesting. Perhaps I'm only seeing the number because I want to see it in order to justify my own theories, but it does seem strange. Thanks, Demosthenes 1

Another cool fact- the number 1138 is a recurring number in the Lucasarts Franchise [1]. Like the number 47 is included repeatedly in the Star Trek series, I read that George Lucas has the number 1138 appear in every one of his Star Wars movies and many of the Star Wars video games. This recurrance of the number has led other films ([2]) to include the number. The number comes from his first movie THX 1138, and recently I noticed that 1138 is also the number of units of energy released from a single glucose molecule (or something along those lines; if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me). Alrighty, just thought that was interesting. Demosthenes 1 00:46, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Update: the number 23 appears in the birthday paradox. RAmen, Demosthenes 21:45, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Also, see here for an occurrance of 744 in the approximation of pi. RAmen, Demosthenes 22:54, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Umbra (Elder Scrolls)

An editor has nominated Umbra (Elder Scrolls), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Umbra (Elder Scrolls) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] A Day of Silence

The article A Day of Silence has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 00:22, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:UW future?

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter.
