A brakeman for the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, in January 1943, demonstrates a signal indicating "stop" with a fusee.

Photo by Jack Delano, United States Office of War Information. Library of Congress call number LC-USW36-630. [1] (retrieved November 23, 2005) asserts "Photographs in this collection were taken by photographers working for the U.S. Government. Generally speaking, works created by U.S. Government employees are not eligible for copyright protection in the United States."
