Demolisher (Conker)

A Demolisher is one of the classes in the Xbox video game Conker: Live & Reloaded. Demolishers are capable of killing enemies easily and are the most resilient, however they are the slowest and largest (easiest to hit). As the name suggests Demolishers are usually used to destroy things, be it vehicles, objectives or large groups of enemies. Unless they have back-up, Demolishers should avoid groups of scattered enemies.

  • Bazooka - The Demolisher's Bazooka deals massive damage (enemy explodes on direct hit), however the rockets are slow, have to be reloaded after each shot and reload time is very large compared to other weapons. There are two modes of fire: Rockets, which fly straight, or surface-to-air Anti-Aircraft missiles, which, once locked, will home in on the target. Once upgraded Demolishers can fire guided missiles, which are controlled through a camera on the front of the missile, however this is not commonly used due to the relatively sluggish respose to steering.
  • Strayfur - A powerful but inaccurate minigun, available once upgraded, only practical at close/medium range. The Strayfur takes approximately half a second to get the barrels spinning up to speed which is often enough time for the enemy in question to kill the player, reloading time is also long but with 150 bullets per belt many enemies can be killed before it becomes necessary. Many players choose not to use the Strayfur because of its inaccuracy and warm up time. It is best used against enemy armour due to the continuous stream of damage.
  • Grenades -Demolishers carry a frag grenade and a smoke grenade as standard. When upgraded they also carry an incendiary grenade.
  • Arc Weld - A tool that repairs vehicles or terminals, simply stand next to a vehicle or terminal and "fire" it to repair it.
  • Beserk Mode - A poweful ability that lets Demolishers put away their weapons and run around on-all-fours like an animal. The player's health and speed are increased but their only attack is to jump in the air and create a shockwave that hurts nearby enemies. The shockwave is very damaging and throws enemies into the air meaning that even if not killed by the first wave, they will be caught by the next. It takes a few seconds to enter beserk mode and once a beserk Demolisher is spotted they are usually targeted. This is the Demolisher's best chance in close quarters.

  • Tankus - A heavily armoured tank while slow it is highly maneuverable due to the caterpillar tracks. The Tankus features 2 tank guns which can be fired separately, however there is no reticule on screen so the accuracy is low. The turret can be controlled by a separate player. The Tankus is used primarily for bombarding and assaulting an enemy base, charging through the defences being virtually unaffected by small arms fire.
  • Mines - 3 Mines are available for deployment, they are invisible to enemies and aren't triggered by allies. Often used at choke points the mines, while deadly against foot soldiers are far more effective against vehicles which often can't avoid a mine.
  • Earth Guard - Available only once upgraded, the Earth Guard is an automatic turret armed with a machine gun. While highly effective against individual targets it is less effective against a group due to its nature of targeting individuals. The Earth Guard can be temporarily disabled with an EMP grenade or destroyed with enough fire.
