Demänová Ice Cave

The Demänová Ice Cave (Slovak: Demänovská ľadová jaskyňa) is an ice cave in the Demänová Valley (Low Tatra) in Slovakia. It was mentioned in 1299 and is one of oldest known caves in Europe. After opening of the Demänová Cave of Freedom interest for this cave declined. It was opened after reconstruction of wooden stairs and electrical lightning to the public again in 1952, with 680 m out of the 1900 m open.
