Talk:Del Sol Quartet

I wouldn't classify this as a tango music group. They did a rendition of Piazzolla on their 2002 CD but the rest of the composers on the album are not tango composers. I would call them a contemporary classical chamber ensemble. RosinDebow 03:49, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

They also performed Audacious Tango from "Tangoimpressions" by Adraina Isabel Figueroa MaƱas on their 2002 CD, and Four, For Tango by Astor Piazzolla on their "Short Cuts" CD. The Antheil project seems to have been a departure. DudleyDoWrite 5 October 2006

If "Tango music group" means "a group that occasionally plays tango" I wouldn't disagree. But I'm on their mailing list and have been to two of their concerts, and I would not say that they specialize in tango. Their repertoire is much wider, encompassing the classics to contemporary music, music by Chinese, Iranian, and Mexican composers, etc. In a similar vein, I wouldn't call the Kronos Quartet a jazz string quartet because they did albums dedicated to Bill Evans and Thelonius Monk.
