Delta Epsilon Psi was founded October 1, 1998 at the University of Texas at Austin by 18 motivated brothers. These South Asian men, though from different backgrounds, had an identical vision of the ideal South Asian fraternity. Starting from scratch, with no template or working model to guide them, the Founding Fathers embarked on a journey they hoped would unite and strengthen their community.

Twelve days later, a group of twenty-five South Asian males from the University of Houston came together with the same vision of a service-oriented organization and decided that Delta Epsilon Psi's pillars of brotherhood, discipline, and commitment could best help them achieve success. From that point on, this was recognized Delta Epsilon Psi's Alpha Chapter.

[edit] Today

Today, this organization has grown six chapters and three colonies strong. Delta Epsiloon Psi has come a long way since its inception and now has become one of the largest and fastest growing South Asian fraternity in the western hemisphere with over 500 members nationwide.

Delta Epsilon Psi means more to us than simply being another organization or "club." Our fraternity is a family. Together we are driven to instill the virtues of brotherhood, discipline and commitment within our members through various service and social activities. We were founded on the idea that together we can achieve greater success than when standing along. Our goals are structured both for the growth of the fraternity and the individual.

We aim at providing a basic support network for members to succeed academically, uniting members more closely to the community, transcending religious and regional barriers within our community and creating an awareness of South Asian needs and problems to the community. For individual members we hope to contribute to the betterment of their character and person.

We look to continue and strengthen these views with the addition of young men from various backgrounds but with an identical vision. Delta Epsilon Psi was not created to separate a group from a whole but rather to instill the ideas of a whole into a body of unified men.

Our goal is for our members to develop self-confidence, leadership qualities, social skills and a belief in the potential and strength of their abilities. With the development of each brother our top priority, the evolution of Delta Epsilon Psi has inspired many different thoughts, opinions and ideas on the power of a unified body of South Asian men.

One of the best qualities of Delta Epsilon Psi is the diversity of our members. We have successfully molded together the different nationalities, cultures, religions of not only South Asia, but all parts of the world into an active group of influential students. Our eclectic collection of individuals and personalities gives Delta Epsilon Psi a unique perspective on the various issues and problems facing our society.
