Dellamonica, A.M.

A.M. (Alyx) Dellamonica (born 1968) is a speculative fiction writer, reviewer and teacher whose fiction has been compared to James W. Tiptree.

The author of over thirty short stories and numerous book and web site reviews, Dellamonica writes in a number of genres including science fiction, fantasy, and alternate history. Her SF story "A Slow Day at the Gallery" was one of David Hartwell's Year's Best SF picks in 2002; her Joan of Arc alternate history "A Key to the Illuminated Heretic" was nominated for the 2005 Sidewise Award. In 2006, she received the Canada Council for the Arts' Grant for Emerging Artists.

Dellamonica teaches three writing courses through the UCLA Extension Writer's Program (http://www.uclaextension.edu/), two of them with a focus on SF, fantasy fiction, and the other speculative literature genres.
