Delerium Records

Delerium Records was founded in 1991 by Freakbeat 'zine editor Richard Allen in Buckinghamshire, England, primarily as a label to promote new psychedelic music.
The label has become widely known due to the huge success of British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree - who Allen managed up until 2004 - but Delerium also released numerous recordings by many other artists, including Sons of Selina, Kava Kava, Sadaar Bazaar and Omnia Opera. The double CD label Sampler Pick and Mix was one of the first budget CD samplers and sold over 12,000 copies.
Delerium folded in 2002, when the market for new psychedelic and progressive rock bands faded. The Freak Emporium, which was originally part of Delerium Records mail order operation, has gone on to become one of the most respected specialist music retailers on the internet. Allen briefly ran a more low-key heavy rock label Molten Records and managed UK rock Trio, Josiah.
