Del Oro High School is located in Loomis, California, and is a part of the Placer Union High School District. It was founded in 1958 and currently has over 1600 students attending. Del Oro's mascot is the golden eagle. The dropout rate is less than 1%[1], which is below average in California. Many of Del Oro's teachers are return students. The school has a decades long rivalry with neighboring Placer High School in Auburn, CA, though this rivalry has had to begin a switch to Rocklin High School since Placer changed leagues.

The Del Oro Football team is quite astounding. They went undefeated at 13-0 to win the 2005 Sac-Joaquin Section Division II title. In 2006 they went 12-1 and were ranked as the #1 Division team in the NorCal Section.

The drama department got its start only 3 years ago, but has already become quite accomplished, especially with the completion of Del Oro's new performing arts building, which includes rooms for drama, choir, band, and an impressive theatre. Outstanding productions by the drama department thus far include You Can't Take it With You, Our Town (Revised), Bang Bang, You're Dead, Copyright (a high school parody of Cyrano de Bergerac), Arsenic and Old Lace, The Foreigner, Much Ado About Nothing (A Drama 2 production), and Noises Off.

Del Oro has many awesome teachers. Jason Smith, Paul Lundberg, and Dylan Holcomb to mention a few. They make learning fun for the students.
