Del Mar College

Del Mar College is a community college in Corpus Christi, Texas.
As of the end of the 2005-06 school year, it had 9,936 students. Nearly three out of five of (59%) were women and over half (53%) were Hispanic.
In the spring of 2006, Del Mar banned the popular social networking website Myspace.com from use on its computer labs. According to local media reports, Del Mar officials blocked the site because its popularity was causing a strain on its Intranet system, affecting the ability of some students to take online courses.
