Del-Heads

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Del-Heads are bluegrass musician Del McCoury's fan base, one of the most enthusiastic in the genre. The name is derived from the Dead Heads, fans of the Grateful Dead[1], because there is a large cross-over; Del-Heads are known to be "tie-dyed clad".[2] This crossover appeal comes in part from Del McCoury's appearances with bands such as Phish and Donna the Buffalo, as well as performances at Bonnaroo, High Sierra, and the Newport Folk Festival.
