Image talk:Dejavu Fonts Sample.png

This image is nice, but isn't it a bad idea to have a bitmap of a font sample, and then to scale it on various pages? Stale Fries 05:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it would bebetter to have in SVG format. // Liftarn
- Right, but that's not what I'm talking about (unless Wikipedia does mutiple rasterizations per svg). As you can see in the sidebar of DejaVu Fonts, the image gets scaled down, which effectively destroys the image. This isn't good if the image is intended to showcase the font's chaaracteristics.
- I'll try to make the svg version now, but I propose making a smaller version, with less characters, and using that instead, so that it won't get scaled down. Stale Fries 16:17, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- As far as I know MediaWiki makes a raster version of an SVG image at the requested resolution. That means it can be rasterised at various sizes. // Liftarn
- OK, that's good. I've listed out all the special characters from the image here. I'm pretty sure they're all correct, but it'd be nice if someone else would check them and make sure. I'll start on the svg in the meantime. Stale Fries 16:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
