Deidre Rubenstein

Deidre Rubenstein is an Australian television and theatre actress, best known for her performance in Australian soap operas.

A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art, her most recent television appearance was in the Australian soap Neighbours. She appeared in 2004, playing the scheming Svetlanka Ristic. Rubenstein had previously appeared in Prisoner in 1979 as terrorist Janet Dominguez, and the film Siam Sunset in 1999.

Rubenstein is also a prolific theatre actress, and has created three one-woman shows, which have toured Australia and overseas; and has also narrated a number of audio books.[1] [2]

Rubenstein won an Australian Film Institute (AFI) award for Best Actress in the mini-series Palace of Dreams [3]. In 2001, she won an Adult Narrator of the Year Award for her joint reading of The Architect by Jillian Watkinson. [4]
