The Deheishe Refugee Camp is a refugee camp of Palestinian people near Bethlehem, founded in the aftermath of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War by approx 3,400 refugees from 45 villages. The 1.5 square kilometers occupied by original refugees is now home to their 11,000 descendents.
