Defend Your Castle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Defend Your Castle is a browser-based game made by the company XGenStudios. The goal is to keep waves of stick-men from destroying the player's castle for as long as possible by using the mouse cursor to pick up and throw them up into the air and let them fall down to die. The castle can be upgraded, repaired, and strengthened between stages.

[edit] Converts
Enemies can be converted once the Temple is acquired. This is achieved by gently dropping them into the castle, instead of throwing them. The castle will start emitting a shining golden light. When the conversion process is complete, there will be a blue stick-man below the castle's health meter. Although the maximum displayed can only be ten, more than this amount can be held at one time. To utilize the new convert, the player must buy one of the other four available buildings. After the buildings have been bought, clicking on one of the flags on the castle's towers will add that convert to that tower, except the demolition lab (kamikaze), which is used directly from the blue convert-icons underneath the health meter.
[edit] Buildings
- Temple (Costs 5,000 points) - Allows the player to convert enemies to the player's own army.
- Archery Range (Costs 8,000 points) - Allows the player to train archers to attack the enemies as they approach. Clicking on the red flag will train an archer.
- Demolition Lab (Costs 15,000 points) - Allows the player to train suicide bombers. Clicking on one of the blue-tinted converts below the castle's health meter will send him out the castle doors on to the field. Clicking on a suicide bomber will detonate him.
- Workshop (Costs 25,000 points) - Allows the player to train craftsmen to repair the castle during game play. Clicking on the green flag will train a craftsman.
- Mana Pool (Costs 40,000 points) - Allows the player to train wizards to cast any of three spells on the enemies. The first spell instantly kills one enemy, the second kills all enemies in a large area, and the third spell instantly converts one enemy unit to the player's army. Clicking on the yellow flag will train a wizard.
Each archer, craftsman, and wizard requires upkeep points in order to remain in the player's army. Archers cost 200 points, wizards cost 100 points, and craftsmen cost 50 points. If the player does not have enough spendable points at the START of a stage to pay the upkeep costs, the player will lose some or all of their units at the end of the level.
[edit] Enemies
There are many types of enemy troops, all of which will try to destroy the player's castle.
- Stick-Men (They start to appear on stage 1.)
- Stick-Men with Battering Rams (They start to appear on stage 9.)
- Giant Stick-Men (They start to appear on stage 14.) Giant Stick-Men can be killed by Archers, Wizards, your own Kamikaze bombers, and simply by clicking several times. Click damage will only be taken when they are standing.
- Kamikaze Stick-Men (They start to appear on stage 17.)
- Green Dragons (They start to appear at stage 30 of the full version.) They can be killed by clicking on them roughly five times. They are immune to archer and wizard attacks.
- Red Dragons (They start to appear at stage 50 of the full version.) They can be killed by clicking on them roughly ten times. They are very fast and are immune to archer attacks and wizard attacks.
[edit] Cheats
There is also a cheat, Splattery, that when entered from the main menu starts a new game beginning on level 10 with 45,000 spendable points and 12 converts do to your bidding.[citation needed]
