- I agree. Declan Swan was for a while a cult figure (admittedly mainly a figure to be hated) and was a recognised cultural phenomenon in the UK. This article should be expanded rather than speedied. At least AfD it. Tonywalton | Talk 16:41, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed with above. This article needs serious expansion and does need to be put up for AfD so that a concensus can be reached regarding its future. --Zsinj 16:43, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, stricly this doesn't qualify for CSD:A7 anyway as that refers to "real person or persons" while Declan Swan was a ficticious person (as the article mentions). Tonywalton | Talk 16:44, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Wow. I was about to delete this for being the cruftiest cruft imaginable. Not every news story needs an article on it. However I won't speedy since there's already reasonable objection, but if an Afd came along right now I'd be in the "delete" camp. Friday (talk) 16:47, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- The point isn't the news story, it's the reaction to the Declan Swan character itself. There were "hate Declan Swan" websites, T-shirts... Give me a while and I'll try to dig up some references. Certainly it was ephemeral but was IMV notable. AfD? Tonywalton | Talk 16:50, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Righty-ho. Derex? Zsinj? Fancy lending a hand? My boss keeps interrupting me by ringing me up and making me do work... Tonywalton | Talk 17:23, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
