Deceptions is the first of the Special Edition copies in the Jedi Apprentice series which revolves around the story of young Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn as Jedi prior to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Deep in Obi-Wan's past, a dark secret lurks . . . a secret that the Jedi Master thought had been forgotten. But the secret has not been forgotten. Now, twenty years later, Obi-Wan senses that there is something unruly about his young apprentice. Someone is plotting long-awaited revenge, and everything is going to change for Obi-Wan and Anakin.

As an apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi is blamed for the death of another Jedi student. With the help of his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan must fight to clear his name. But even if he is found not guilty, he has gained an enemy for life - the dead boy's vindictive father.
Twelve years later, Obi-Wan is a Jedi Knight, with his own young apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Anakin does not know about the secrets Obi-Wan are hiding.
