Deb Richard

Deb Richard (born June 13, 1963) was a golfer on the LPGA Tour for 20 years (1986-2005). She won five Tour events and finished in the top ten in dozens of others.
Richard was born in Abbeville, Louisiana, and raised in Manhattan, Kansas. She is the daughter of Pat and Dee Richard. She first found success as an amateur golfer, beginning by winning the high school State Championship three years straight for Manhattan High School (1979-1981). She followed by winning the Kansas Women's Amateur each of the next two years (1982, 1983). In 1984, Richard won the prestigious U.S. Women's Amateur; a few months later she was part of the U.S. team that won the World Amateur Golf Team Championships in Hong Kong.
At the University of Florida, she won 7 tournaments including 3 consecutive SEC Championships. She was also the individual runner-up in the 1985 NCAA Championships and won the Broderick Award as the nation's outstanding female collegiate golfer.

In 1992, Richard was selected for the Solheim Cup team.
Richard has been inducted into the University of Florida's Hall of Fame and the Kansas Golf Hall of Fame. She has also received a number of awards for her charitable activities.
