Talk:Dearne Valley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The area described is now refered to as Dearne Valley. The OS map says the same. There seems to be alot of inititives and organisations using the term as well. So I'll add references to them when I don't have to be up in 3 hours.
"Business parks in the area have sprung up, yet are showing little benefit to the area as a rule"
Badly POV, this.BaseTurnComplete 16:28, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
To the person that made Goldthorpe a village, well that's a moot point. Goldthorpe had a Town Hall which is the definition of a town. However the Town Hall was called the Dearne Town Hall, after the name of the Urban District Council which it contained. Since there's no settlement called Dearne, I personally take that as meaning that Goldthorpe is a town. I've left your modification though as I really can't be bothered changing it back!BaseTurnComplete 20:52, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
