[edit] Plot synopsis
After Daniel Elkins, a vampire hunter and John Winchester's mentor, is murdered, Sam and Dean Winchester are surprised when John himself shows up to solve the case. John discovers the vampires have taken an antique gun, which, when loaded with its accompanying bullets, has the power to kill any living or supernatural being. The Winchester family sets out to retrieve the gun from the vampires so they can use it to kill the demon that took Sam and Dean's mother, Mary Winchester. They use arrows poisoned in Dead Man's blood to attack the vampires, which is harmful to them. John kills the leader of vampire with the gun and agrees that all three will go on the mission to kill the demon together.
[edit] Production notes
- John says that the gun was built by Samuel Colt himself, the famous gun manufacturer. This is the show's first explicit indication that some real-life historical figures were directly involved with the supernatural.
- The band Tito and Tarantula whose song "Strange Face of Love" is featured in the show performs as the vampire band in the strip club in Robert Rodriguez's vampire/action film From Dusk Til Dawn.
[edit] Featured music
- Strange Face of Love - Tito and Tarantula
- The House is Rockin' - Stevie Ray Vaughan
