De Munck Stradivarius

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The De Munck cello was made in 1730, when Antonio Stradivari was 86 years old.

It has been described by Steven Isserlis as "My dream cello, that has everything that a cellist looks for in an instrument." The cello was made during Stradivari's 'Golden' period, which makes it many times more valuable than instruments made either side of this period. The cello has been played by great cellists such as Emanuel Feuermann, Aldo Parisot, Steven Isserlis, among others.
