[edit] License tagging for Image:ArlingtonHeights01.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ArlingtonHeights01.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:04, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to Portland, OR

I moved your pages to the "see also" section. Also, remember you can link to wikipedia pages by inserting [[ ]] around each page, rather than using an external link. And remember to use the "preview button" at the bottom of the edit window, because it prevents cluttering. --Liface 18:13, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

I also fixed your English-wikipedia-links. Instead of writing [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alameda_Neighborhood%2C_Portland%2C_OR Alameda], instead write [[Alameda Neighborhood, Portland, OR|Alameda]]. This has several advantages:
  1. The external link symbol (a little dual headed arrow) does not appear.
  2. The target article "knows" it is linked to, by making every page's "what links here" work right. This is helpful for maintenance when renaming an article, or for certain other changes.
  3. It makes translation into other languages much easier
  4. Search engine ranking is probably more useful
Other details of editing, such as the use of the vertical bar within a link, can be found here.
Thanks for your work on the article, it is much appreciated. —EncMstr 19:53, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikify tag

Please stop removing the wikify tag from Arlington Heights Neighborhood, Portland, OR. It still needs some major formatting work (which i'm about to do right now) --Liface 20:49, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem. Just remember to use --~~~~ to identify yourself using a signature on talk pages. --Liface 21:26, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are images from portlandconnected.com in the Creative Commons?

You've marked several images uploaded from http://portlandconnected.com with the cc-by-sa-2.5 tag, but I can't find a note on that website indicating that they are publishing those images under that license. Do you have evidence that this is the case? --ScottMainwaring 05:47, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lake Oswego

Was that you, not logged in that inserted the link the first time before I deleted it? Sorry, I jumped the gun on that one--it looks like a couple other editors have talked to you and found your links to not be spammy. :) Carry on and happy editing, Katr67 23:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

P.S. Don't forget about "Show preview"... Katr67 23:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
