Export Gold is a New Zealand beer.
It was first brewed DB Export as a result of the "Black Budget" from then Finance minister Lord Arnold Nordmeyer which imposed extremely high duty on imported premium lagers. DB Export was initially brewed as a 5.4% premium lager and with "Export" in the title to compete with international premium lagers.
Since then, Export Gold has won several awards at various brewing awards. In 1994 as a result of winning 3 Gold Medals the name was changed from DB Export to DB Export Gold. In 1998 the name was changed again simply to Export Gold.
