Daystar Technologies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Daystar Technologies, Inc., was incorporated in October of 1998. Its primary products were continued service of upgrades and clones from DayStar Digital and PowerPC CPU upgrades.
In January of 2000, Daystar Technology partnered with Interex, Inc. (later XLR8, Inc.), to re-engineer the line of XLR8 products. Within a year, the XLR8 brand was recognized in editorial reviews, and by award committees and industry pundits, as the best choice for performance.
Despite this critical acclaim, the companies Interex, Inc. and XLR8, Inc. had problems that forced their businesses to close- namely being stuck at 500MHz due to the architecture of the PowerPC G4's bus. In October of 2002 Daystar Technology acquired all engineering, IP and resources of the XLR8 brand. It redesigned all core software products and CPU upgrades for additional performance.
In October of 2003 Daystar Technology added XLR8 Brand PowerBook G4 upgrades to its list of offerings. In March of 2004, Daystar Technology became an Apple Authorized Reseller and Service Provider. Daystar Technology now offers PowerPC G4 upgrades for aging PowerMacs. The company plans to expand its offerings in both the CPU and Video capture arenas.
In August of 2005, Gary Dailey, President of Daystar, added iMac Flat Panel Upgrades to their line of product offerings. The iMac Flat Panel Upgrades come in two versions: 1.35 GHZ for the iMac 700 / 800 MHz and 1.92 GHz for the iMac 1.0 / 1.25 GHz.
