The Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System, also familiarly known as the D.A.V. Public Schools System is the single largest non-governmental education society in India[citation needed]. It is based on the ideals of the Hindu spiritual leader, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, who emphasised the amalgamation of the best of the Vedic and British education systems.

Formed in 1886, in Lahore by Maharishi Hansraj, it manages 667 institutions today, with an annual budget of more than 2 billion rupees. It is active primarily in Northern India.

These schools are run by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society, also commonly known as the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Education Society[citation needed].

It holds the record for producing the largest number of Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E.) & Indian School Certificate (I.S.C.) toppers as a single institution in the last 10 years[citation needed].

English is the primary language of instruction, with students also receiving compulsory education in Hindi and Sanskrit. Students are ultimately placed in one of three tracks: Medical Science, Non-Medical Science, Commerce and Textile Design.
