Day of Celebration

The Day of Celebration was a gathering of 45,000 Latter-Day Saint youth which took place on July 16, 2005 to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The youth celebrated the life of prophet Joseph Smith through song and dance, which included a 16,000 voice choir singing songs specially arranged for the event and choreography performed by 2,400 flag bearers. Other events included a traditional Māori haka and concluding remarks by the current president of the church, Gordon B. Hinckley.
