DayShawn Wright (born September 5, 1985 in Syracuse, New York/Oak Hill Academy) was a forward for the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team from 2004 to 2005.
Wright transferred to Oak Hill Academy his senior year of high school, helping the team go 38-0, winning the 2004 national championship.
Later in 2004, Wright joined Syracuse University and played for them until 2005 when he was declared academically ineligible. He transferred to Mountain State University where he also failed to play basketball because of academic ineligibility.
In September 2006, Wright was the #1 overall pick in the Continental Basketball Association draft. However, the Buffalo Silverbacks of the American Basketball Association had already signed Wright to an ABA contract in July 2006. Wright went on to sign another contract with the CBA's Minot SkyRockets in October 2006.
In December 2006, the SkyRockets released Wright after he was arrested for drug possession and driving with a suspended license. [1]
