Dawn Lake

Dawn Lake (January 20, 1927January 1, 2006) was an Australian TV comedian, singer, entertainer and actor.

She started her career as a nightclub singer in the 1940s, meeting her future husband, entertainer Bobby Limb at this time. In the 1950s she worked in the UK on television and won a contract to sing with the BBC Show Band, and in Australia sang on 2UE and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio stations, frequently with Bobby Limb's band. She married Limb in 1953 and found her greatest fame through later collaborations with him on television programs The Mobil Limb Show produced by TCN9 and Bobby Limb's Sound of Music. Limb's production company also created situation comedy series The Private World of Miss Prim (1966) as a vehicle for Lake however the series was short-lived. Lake was subsequently a regular for the 1967 season of top-rated sketch comedy program The Mavis Bramston Show.

Through the 1970s she guest starred in Australian drama series such as Division 4 and Glenview High, and appeared as a panellist on game show Graham Kennedy's Blankety Blanks. She also made a few appearances in dramatic feature films of this period, with roles in Squeeze a Flower and Wake in Fright.
