[edit] Searching

Hi Davjohn, regarding finding articles on wikipedia, right now the search is disabled as there are some problems with the servers. That's why it shows the google search. However it is still pretty good at finding articles (though google may not be as up to date). I am not sure I understand what problem you are having. Typing in coffee in the google box brings up Coffee, Caffeine, etc. What are you looking for? Pressing the Go button above actually takes you directly to the article with the title you enter. There is also a Reference desk where you may ask for help in locating some information. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question. Dori | Talk 07:08, Jan 2, 2004 (UTC)

Do you mean searching within an article? Most browsers allow searching of text (using ctrl-f), but not all allow searching of edit boxes (I think IE does). WIkipedia has no such searching. Dori | Talk 07:31, Jan 2, 2004 (UTC)
If you use the wikipedia search box, it automatically does the search within the wikipedia domain in google. Or you can just add site:wikipedia.org (without having to go into advanced mode). Dori | Talk 07:42, Jan 2, 2004 (UTC)
