[edit] Categories

Hi, Dave. I noticed that you have added Category:Calvinism to various articles, but in some cases, I think this categorization is mistaken according to the guideline found at WP:SUBCAT because usually articles should not be a member of a cat and its subcat. For instance, you added Category:Calvinism to George Whitefield, but he was already a member of Category:Reformed theologians which is a subcat of of Category:Calvinism. I would argue he does not merit an exception to the general rule ("not a member of a cat and its subcat") because, while he certainly was an important Calvinist, he was not so important in the history of Calvinism (like, say, John Calvin or Theodore Beza are). Likewise the Presbyterian Church in America is a member of Category:Presbyterianism in the United States, so it shouldn't also be a member of the parent Category:Calvinism. --Flex 13:18, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
