I'm going to go through and edit the main piece, just to make it flow a little better. As it is, it seems like the sentences are kind of abrubt and I feel like theres a lot more information out there to be added on the band. Jahen86 13:45, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

I had just created a "David Crowder* Band" page when I saw one already existed under "David Crowder Band." I have redirected and merged my (minor) additional information with this article. As of now, the article is consistent within itself. But which name should be used? Nearly every album has it with the asterisk, but nowhere else on their site can I find it. It has the star on the Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia track/artist listing (it's like that on the actual album, not just the Wiki page). Let me know what you think... I believe that it would be much more useful for people searching for the band if the title was sans asterix. On iTunes and Amazon the band is listed w/o the asterix, making it much easier to find, so I think keeping it as it is would be best. Perhaps adding a section to clarify that the "official" name is David Crowder* Band would be apropos. Jahen86 17:56, 26 April 2005 (UTC)

Considering that the sans-asterisk version wins Google by about a million hits, and also that the band does not refer to itself with the asterik in its own bio, you might want to rethink this. Few, if any, media outlets include the asterisk in their reports on the band. Woodshed 12:07, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I distinctly remember them rising to the #1 spot on iTunes. I believe I still have their e-mail announcement from that. If I can find it i'm going to change that and add a little more information about their impact on modern secular and Christian music. Jahen86 19:47, 26 April 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jason Solley's status

Jason Solley's name has been replaced in the "members" section two different times now. I reverted the first, because the method looked suspicious (Solley wasn't moved to a "former members" section, the roles, i.e. guitar, vocals, mandolin weren't changed, and no cite was provided). I tried to find confirmation of his departure from the band before doing anything, but I couldn't, and I still can't. I checked the DCB website, MySpace page, etc, and I didn't see anything. If it is true, and someone can provide confirmation, it would be better to make the adjustments I mentioned above instead of simply replacing the name. Solley shouldn't have been completely removed from the page. Can anyone provide any more info here? -- Fru1tbat 22:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

The band formally issued a statement of Solley's departure on their website yesterday on this page: http://www.davidcrowderband.com/news/articles.php3?id=000219 . The statement also mentioned their new guitarist, Taylor Johnson. All right...I know there's been discussion on the dispute between David Crowder Band and David Crowder* Band, but should we at least normalize it? The article title is sans asterisk, but references within the article include the pesky punctuation. I suggest we normalize to one method, move it if necessary, and add a line stating that the band is "(Also known as...)"

Well, there's a redirect at David Crowder*Band, so at least it's covered. Per WP:NC(CN), I would say leave the asterisk out. Also, per WP:NC#Special characters, I'd say the asterisk qualifies as a logo symbol only (since the band, for example, uses "DCB" in their news postings on their website, not "DC*B", and "david crowder band" in their home page title). Actually, I'd be inclined to remove most of the asterisks from the article... Is it really necessary to say "The David Crowder*Band won ..." for example? The Dove Awards site doesn't use the asterisk... I think it could be considered entirely "logo-only" and largely eliminated. --Fru1tbat 15:05, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

As there were no objections, I took care of it. All * removed, reference made to it in new "name" section. Also removed "The," as per trivia note, then moved the trivia note to "name" section, as well. David 17:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
