Copyrighted

This work is copyrighted and unlicensed. It does not fall into one of the blanket fair use categories listed at Wikipedia:Fair use#Images or Wikipedia:Fair use#Audio_clips. However, it is believed that the use of this work in the article "David Hicks":

  • To illustrate the object in question
  • Where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information
  • On the English-language Wikipedia ([1]), hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation ([2]),

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use and Wikipedia:Copyrights.

To the uploader: this tag is not a sufficient claim of fair use. You must also include the source of the work, all available copyright information, and a detailed fair use rationale.

[edit] Fair use for David Hicks

This image is reproduced under claim of fair use as:

  1. it is a historically relevant photo of a well-known individual;
  2. it is of lower resolution than the original (such that copies made from it will be of inferior quality);
  3. use of the image is intended only for informational purposes; and
  4. its inclusion adds sufficiently to the article because it is apt to the article content.

This image was uploaded under a fair use rationale, but may fail Wikipedia's first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image might reasonably be found or created that adequately provides the same information. If you believe that a free replacement image can not be reasonably found or created please add one of the following:

{{Replaceable fair use disputed | Your reason why a free replacement is not available}}

or

{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}

to this page and give the reasons for your dispute on the talk page.

If this image is determined to be replaceable within one week from 31 March 2007 (7 April), the image may be deleted by any administrator. Do not remove this tag.

After adding this tag, please notify the uploader with
{{subst:replaceable|David Hicks.jpg}} ~~~~
Also consider adding:
{{subst:refu-c}}
to the caption in article(s) the image is used to give a little advance warning that a free licensed replacement should be sought after. Adding {{reqphoto}}, or one of the more specific image request templates (listed on the reqphoto template page), to the article's talk page may also be helpful if there are no other images in the article already.

Tagger: If this image has, at the time of tagging, a rationale explaining why it is irreplaceable, please do not forget to explain on the talk page why you think that rationale is not valid. Tags applied in contravention of this requirement may be removed; if a rationale is added after the tagging, the normal process for disputing a tag should be followed.

Suggested deletion Summary:I7 Replaceable fair use image

It is disputed whether or not this image violates our first fair use criterion.

The reason given is: This man is going to prison. I am highly dobutful that somebody can take a picture of him. Or: will the fed. government take a booking photo of him? If so, I withdraw this retraction.

Closing administrator: if the decision is to Keep the image please put {{Rk}} on the image page. If the decision is to Delete please archive the discussion on the talk page between {{Rtd}} and {{Rb}} and delete the image page.
