Davy Crockett National Forest is off U.S. Highway 69 lying west of Lufkin, Texas and east of Crockett. It is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service local headquarters in Lufkin.
The forest covers a total of 161,842 acres (655 km²) in two counties - Houston 94,481 acres (382 km²) and Trinity 67,361 acres (273 km²).
