David "Tex" Little

David Samuel "Tex" Little (December 26, 1902 - March 12, 2006) was one of the few surviving United States veterans who served during the First World War still alive at the start of 2006.
Tex Little was born in Alexander County, North Carolina. In 1919, at the age of 16, he enlisted in the army, and trained soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After the First World War, Little moved to Texas, and then finally to Jackson, Wyoming, where he was given the nickname "Tex". He was the youngest surviving soldier of the First World War to still be alive, until his death in 2006.
