David Vandervelde

David Vandervelde is a Chicago-based, alternative rock musician, whose works and been featured predominantly, along with Brie Stoner's, as background music in NOOMA videos. He performs with The Moonstation House Band (formerly known as Where The Moon Came From band).[1]

All of his albums to date have been released on the Secretly Canadian record label.

David plays both the piano and guitar.

Flannel released their first soundtrack of NOOMA music in December, 2005, via their website, only.[1] The soundtrack contains music from the first 10 NOOMA's, with the exception of 009 | Lump Rob Bell, which featured music from The Album Leaf's In a Safe Place.

David's first full length abum, The Moonstation House Band, was released as both a CD and LP on the Secretly Canadian Label in January, 2007. From this, he has launched a 6 week tour.

David Vandervelde, along with Brie Stoner, and an unknown drummer, were the three primary musicians in 011 | Rhythm Rob Bell, around whom a symphony orchestra performed David's song 'Moonlight' (from his The Moonstation House Band album).

David will be touring the United States from March until April, 2007 as a tour release for his new album, The Moonstation House Band, along with Secretly Canadian Performing Artist, Richard Swift.[2]

It has been reported that David will be playing Lollapalooza this year.[3]
