David V.

David V. (born 26 August 1932 - died 10 July 2005) is a unionist and former opposition politician. While in parliament, he has been known to be fearless and vocal in raising issues concerning Indians.

    • Transport Union Secretary
  • 1959: Elected Bangsar Member of Parliament
  • 1964: Arrested under ISA
  • 1969: Arrested under ISA again after May 13 racial riots
  • 1978: Defeated Malaysian Indian Congress strongman, Deputy Minister S. Subramaniam for the Damansara parliament seat
  • 1984: Chairman, World Tamil Association
  • 1987: Arrested under ISA
  • 10 July 2005: Passed away
