David Southwick

David Southwick was the Liberal Candidate for Melbourne Ports in the 2004 Australian Federal Elections. He received 42.94% of the primary vote and 46.26% of the two-party preferred vote. He was preselected for the winnable 3rd spot on the Liberal ticket for the Southern Metropolitan Upper House Region for the November 2006 State Election. Southwick was defeat by millionaire entrepreneur Evan Thornley, who was elected 5th into the Southern Metropolitan Region. Southwick gain 1,798 below-the-line primary votes (0.50%), adding to the total Liberal vote of 167,202 primary votes (below-the-line and above-the-line), accounting to 46.22% of the upper house votes.
Southwick is an entrepreneur. He has worked for companies such as ICE Events, Soda Pop entertainment and International Artists Group. In 1997, Southwick received Young Entrepreneur of the Year and did represent Australian Small Business at Apec.
