David Lucas

A voice actor well known for his work as Spike Spiegel in the Cowboy Bebop TV series English dub. He was also known for his voice acting as Eikichi Onizuka in GTO.

He is frequently thought to be just an alias used by Steven Blum^[1] to avoid running afoul of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for doing voice acting work at below union scale. Steven Blum has said more than once that David Lucas is, in fact, a friend of his, and not an alias. In the case of the Cowboy Bebop movie, which was endorsed by the SAG, Lucas could not reprise his role as Spike Spiegel, and thus officially the job fell to Steven Blum, who may or may not be the same person.

Lucas does not make personal appearances, as he has said that early in his career he had several frightening experiences with overzealous fans. If David Lucas and Steven Blum are the same person, then Steven Blum would be subject to significant financial penalties were he ever to admit that fact.
